About Me
Abdullah Mokhtar is currently a 12th-grade student at Michigan Islamic Academy, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is a dual-enrolled senior taking both college and high school courses. Even though it could be difficult, Abdullah tries his best to manage his time and put effort into his studies. He knows that if he works hard enough and puts in a lot of effort, he will reach his goals. Having this mentality in mind, he has achieved many honor rolls throughout the years because of his academic standing. Despite this, there have been many times in his life where he doesn’t feel like he is progressing in his studies and has hit a wall. When those times come around, Abdullah works even harder in hopes of reaching his goals. When Abdullah manages to squeeze in free time, he spends his time reading about technology, playing video games, or brainstorming ideas on how to tackle homework. And, if Abdullah really feels like it, he’ll start watching some movies or shows. Free time, however, has become very limited due to Abdullah’s dedication to his senior project that focuses on alleviating poverty. By implementing a system similar to that of zakat, Abdullah believes that there would be fewer poor people in the world.
